Every now and then you’ll hear news that’s a little off of the wall and seems like a crazy wedding idea. Three year old barn owl Casbar has a very important job at the wedding of Jenni Jones and Stuart Desborough. Jenni’s father Islwyn, of Llanfihangel Glyn Myfyr, near Ruthin (in Wales) has been dubbed “The Bird Man” by the community. After being seriously injured after a car crash, he took on bird training which really helped him to be a productive citizen again and gave him a new lease on life.

Neither the bride or groom are concerned with the bird taking off with the rings. The bride Jenni says, “Casber will bring in the rings for the best man. It will be lovely. I can’t wait.” She also adds, “There is no chance of him disappearing with the rings. I have watched him train. It’s going to be brilliant.”

Our congratulations go out to the couple as their wedding approaches on January 22nd. Will it go without a hitch? Hopefully so! If it doesn’t go smoothly, may we suggest that maybe they used good old fashioned humans to do the job next time and maybe just show their love of birds by choosing these precious bird tealights from My Wedding Favors instead.
