VENUE SPOTLIGHT: ATLANTA’S PIEDMONT

Every month, we like to call out a new city (and a new wedding venue), that rocks our wedding socks. Last month, we profiled Seattle’s Sodo Park, and this month we venture south to a city many of our readers call home: Atlanta.

From luxe hotels amidst the hustle and bustle of downtown to 1800s-era farmhouses outlying the city, there’s an abundance of venue options for brides of every stripe. One site we swoon over The Piedmont at Park Tavern.

Many brides find themselves fretting over what kind of backdrop they envision for their big day, and The Piedmont offers two equally attractive options. For an indoor event that’s sophisticated and modern, The Piedmont Room fits the bill. Boasting 5,500 square feet, 30 foot ceilings, elegantly outfitted tables, and 12 foot ceilings (with can’t-beat views of Piedmont Park and the Midtown Skyline), this room comfortably accommodates up to 250 guests. You won’t be limited when it comes to wining and dining, either. Four varieties of lavish Gourmet Buffet displays and a dessert itinerary to die for (hello, Ben & Jerry Sundae Bar!) are just two options available whether you choose the Room or the Garden Tent. Which brings us to… The Garden Tent!

The phrase “tent wedding” might elicit images of backyard barbeques and your Uncle Joe’s karaoke machine, but don’t be deceived. Elegant touches aren’t spared at The Piedmont Garden Tent. Crystal chandeliers, Chinese lanterns, ivory table linens, and a checkered dance floor culminates in a backdrop that is equal parts whimsical and chic. This 3,200 square foot space accommodates up to 175 guests and the rental includes The Meadow where couples exchange vows beneath overhanging willows (is there anything more distinctively southern than that?) and The Tavern Bar where guests can clink glasses and grease their party wheels later in the evening.
