We’re not all born with perfectly soft, smooth, clear skin (we wish), but we can fake it quite easily with the right products and technique. To look flawless in photographs, check out what to do below and get ready to master your makeup.

For even coverage:

This tinted moisturizer is the perfect all-in-one. It moisturizes with Argan oil, covers like a lightweight foundation and has sunscreen in it, making it the perfect pick for summer coverage. Apply it with a makeup sponge for more even, opaque coverage. Blend down along your jaw to prevent harsh lines.

For luminous skin:

A quick dusting of brightening powder can make all the difference. Give your skin a boost with the light-reflecting pigments in this product. Apply with a kabuki makeup brush to set everything with an even finish.

For covering dark circles:

Dark circles can make anyone look like they could use a few more hours of sleep. Cover them up with a concealer specifically designed for dark circles for maximum coverage. This one from Maybelline has a built-in applicator, which makes application a breeze. Dot on product, then gently blend with the sponge tip from the inner corners outward to depuff the area and even out the color.

For a kiss of color:

To keep from looking washed out in pictures, a bit of bronzer can go a long way. Swirl a fluffy brush in the product and apply it to your upper cheekbones, across your forehead, down the bridge of your nose and along your jaw.

For a shine-free finish:

Set everything in place and get rid of excess oil all at once with an oil-controlling setting spray. Hold the spray six inches away from your face then mist your face in a clockwise motion starting in the middle of your face and working your way out toward the edges of your jaw and forehead.
