Apparently, it’s going to be a wedding for the ages. By that, I mean their wedding is going to last almost a week. Singer Katy Perry and comedian Russell Brand are getting married in grand style this coming Saturday in India. Namaste!
The couple are making the most of their wedding venue, with plans to take part in several Indian traditions for the ceremony, including having their hands tied together with special threads, and Russell will sport a red dot made of turmeric powder put on his head by Katy’s relatives. As far as I can tell (after several minutes of Internet research), Katy has no Indian ancestry.
It’s likely they chose India for their destination wedding location because Russell proposed to Katy there last year on a trip they took together. We congratulate the happy couple, and we want to give them a few ideas for Indian wedding favors (even though we’re fairly certain their guests will be treated to plenty of Indian delights while they party for days!)
